rotateSwap Tokens

Token swap takes place on the Swap Page. The method of swap tokens is the same as other DEXs. In this chapter, we will try swap tokens while using as many features on the Birdieswap screen as possible.

1. Setting Up the Swap

Set the values in the following order to swap tokens.

① Click the Select Token Button. (Same for Sell/Buy) In the case of Sell Token, ETH is set as default, and clicking it allows you to change it to another Token.

② Select and click the Token to use in the Popped Over Select a Token window.

③ Enter the quantity to exchange in the quantity input window. If you enter it in either Sell or Buy, the other side is automatically entered reflecting the exchange rate.

④ Click the Settings Button at the top right to Open the Max Slippage settings window.

⑤ It is initially set to Auto (0.5%), and custom setting is possible by entering a number.

In this Tutorial, we will select "USDC" as the Sell Token, "WETH" as the Buy Token, and exchange 1,000 USDC for WETH. Setting Max Slippage to 1% completes the settings as shown below.

2. Token Usage Approval

For Token swap, you must first proceed with usage approval, meaning that the Token you own may be used for Token swap. If a lock icon is visible to the left of the Sell Token Logo and the Approve Button is active at the bottom, it is a case where usage approval is required.

The Token usage approval sequence is as follows:

① Click the Approve Button.

② "Confirm Transaction in Wallet" is displayed on the Transaction status Pop Over, and the item to approve (Approve USDC) is displayed below. The spending cap request approval then proceeds automatically in the connected wallet.

③ The spending cap request window opens in the wallet. The default value is unlimited, and you can adjust the limit by clicking the pencil icon on the left. Check the contents and click the Confirm Button at the bottom right.

④ As the wallet window closes, the Transaction status Pop Over changes to "Transaction Submitted," and you can check the detailed information of the proceeding Transaction via Explorer by clicking "View on explorer."

⑤ When the Transaction approval is complete, the Transaction status Pop Over changes to "Success!", and the approval procedure is completed. Closing the Pop Over, you can confirm that the lock icon and Approve Button to the left of the Sell Token Logo have disappeared and the Swap Button has been activated.

3. Token Swap

Once settings and approval are finished, let's proceed with the actual Swap.

The Swap progress sequence is as follows:

① Click the Swap Button.

② "Confirm Transaction in Wallet" is displayed on the Transaction status Pop Over, and the user setting values for Token exchange are displayed below. Then, the Swap proceeds with a Transaction request in the automatically connected wallet.

③ The Transaction request window opens in the wallet. The estimated changes show the exchange details set by the user.

The value appearing at this time displays the actual applied exchange quantity after the transaction is completed. The detailed items of the exchange can be checked in the Explorer, and you can verify that the Tokens used for Swap have been added/deducted in the user's wallet.
